MESA MAN WINS PICK 5 JACKPOT

PHOENIX — A Mesa resident has a reason to celebrate after winning the Pick 5 jackpot from Saturday’s drawing.
Mychal Thompson purchased his winning ticket at the Kwik Mart at 606 W. Broadway Road in Tempe. Thompson matched all five numbers — 10, 15, 17, 18 and 33 — to win $226,000, the third highest Pick 5 jackpot this year.
“Many of our Pick 5 players use their favorite numbers every time they play. Mr. Thompson chose the Quick Pick option, where the numbers were automatically selected for him,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, the Arizona Lottery’s executive director. “I’m sure he’s going to consider those his favorite ‘lucky’ numbers from now on!”
Because the top prize was hit, the jackpot returned to $50,000 for Monday’s drawing and will continue to grow until it is hit again.
