Bernard Sayles of St. Paul won a $25,000 Northstar Cash jackpot. The single-line quick-pick ticket that Sayles purchased for the drawing on April 7 matched all five numbers drawn (2-8-14-20-23) to win the jackpot.
Sayles claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on April 9.
Rainbow Foods, located at 1566 University Ave. in St. Paul, sold the winning ticket.
The following Northstar Cash jackpot prizes are unclaimed: $28,000 from the drawing on July 16, 2008 (sold in Stearns County); $44,401 from the drawing on March 15, 2009 (sold in Stearns County); and $58,941 from the drawing on April 3, 2009 (sold in Ramsey County). Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
